This individual was part of the crew of the S.S. Venture on the expedition to Skull Island in 1933.
Biography[]
Voyage to Skull Island[]
This sailor was along the crewman hired by Carl Denham to go on an expedition to Singapore(not knowing they were actually heading to Skull Island). In which Jimmy over heard Denham and Jack Driscoll talkin about where they were really headed. He is sometimes seen, he is even seen along the crew watching Jimmy and Ann Darrow dance, which they enjoyed, he is seen playing a flute and sitting next to Venture Crewman I.
Arrival and Ann's abduction[]
When the S.S. Venture arrived at Skull Island, the sailor was seen next to Venture Crewman 17 looking at the fog. He helped the rest of the crew throwing most of the ship's cargo overboard in order to keep the Venture from sinking.
Ferructus Attack[]
He later went with Denham, Jack Driscoll, Ben Hayes, Jimmy, Lumpy, Choy, Bruce Baxter, Herb, and fourteen others on an expedition to look for Ann Darrow.
When searching for Ann, they heard noise and grew silent until one sailor accidently fired his weapon. The rest followed suit, having no idea what they were shooting at until Hayes told them to hold fire. Then out of the bushes was a Ferructus, which came charging towards the men, tossing them around until they finally killed it.
Brontosaurus Stampede[]
The sailor later ran with his party when a stampede of Brontosaurus occurred and was crushed against a cliff by one of the large dinosaurs' legs killing him instantly. In addition to that his corpse is dragged along the wall by the dinosaurs' huge leg. He's the second sailor of the Rescue Party to die and fifth to die on the expedition.
The crewman one second away from being crushed between the wall and the Brontosaurus' leg.
Post-Mortem[]
When Denham presented Kong on broadway in New York, he dedicated the show to the sailor along with the other members of the party who were killed in the expedition.
Behind the scenes[]
- The sailor was portrayed by Todd Rippon in Peter Jackson's 2005 remake of King Kong.
- In the deleted dance party sequence, he was part of the band along with Choy, Venture Crewman 1, Venture Crewman 5, Venture Crewman 6, and Venture Crewman 19. He played the flute.
